Reading Time: ~25 Minutes
1. Executive Summary: Six Minutes in the Trenches of Quantitative Infrastructure
In systematic trading, six minutes can be an eternity, or it can be a graveyard of dead ticks.
At exactly 13:12:13 EST on October 16, 2026, we captured a second, high-resolution telemetry dump from our Rithmic10 Redis-Gateway Bot Console. Just six minutes prior—at 13:06 EST—our fleet of 103 autonomous Python trading agents had been grinding through a midday equity index sell-off while simultaneously wrestling with a five-hour data freeze across secondary commodity and cryptocurrency futures channels.
Between 13:06 and 13:12 EST, the Micro E-mini S&P 500 (MESZ6@CME) broke lower, dropping another 5.75 points from 7714.75 down to 7709.00 (with late-second ticks bouncing to 7710.25). In that six-minute window, our trend-following short algorithms pressed their advantage. Open short positions expanded their unrealized gains, a key momentum bot executed a textbook R1 target scale-out at 7711.25 for a $37.25 simulated profit, and another closed out its fourth trade of the day to move to 3W / 1L.
Here is the macro telemetry from the top of the Bot Console at 13:12 EST:

This long-form report is a complete, unvarnished forensic audit of our entire 74-bot visible console library (and the 103-bot broader process tree). We are going to examine the exact leaderboard ranked by total wins, dissect every single mock order and open position on the board, audit the Redis Pub/Sub architecture, explain why 80% of our non-equity bots are trapped in a 19,550-second stale data time-loop, and review every single bot script currently running in memory.
Grab a coffee. We are going deep into the logs.
2. The Master Win/Loss Leaderboard (Ranked by Total Wins)
Before we analyze the code paths and market microstructure, let’s establish the empirical scoreboard.
Across the entire fleet, 65 completed mock trades have been scored by the internal trade-accounting engine, resulting in 48 Wins and 17 Losses. That yields a Total Win/Loss Ratio of 2.82 (for every 1 losing trade, the fleet generates 2.82 winning trades) and an aggregate Win Percentage of 73.85%.
When we rank the active trading bots strictly by Total Wins (Descending), a clear hierarchy emerges: adaptive volatility-filtered momentum bots on MESZ6 are dominating the session.

3. Forensic Anatomy of the Top 6 Active MES Trading Bots
Why did six specific bots on MESZ6@CME generate all 65 closed trades while the other 97 bots in the fleet sat at zero closed trades?
The answer lies in the intersection of market regime and data feed liveness. On October 16, 2026, MESZ6 (December 2026 Micro E-mini S&P 500) was the only contract on our Redis gateway streaming uninterrupted, high-frequency tick data throughout the entire 5-hour and 40-minute session. By 13:12 EST, MESZ6 bots had ingested between 12,942 and 22,640 ticks each.
Furthermore, the price action on MESZ6 was directional: an intraday bearish slide from the 7761.00 morning highs down through 7733.00 (the 30-minute signal bar open) to print lows of 7706.25 before settling around 7709.00–7710.25.
Let’s examine the exact execution mechanics of our Top 6 leaderboard bots in order of their win totals.
🥇 Rank #1: bot_mes_fed_momentum.py (PID 11976 — 17 Wins, 3 Losses)

20 Trades|17 Wins|3 Losses(85.00% Win Rate, 5.67 W/L Ratio)
How It Traded the Session:
PID 11976 is the undisputed heavyweight champion of today’s session. Built during the September 16 sprint, this bot pairs a 30-minute macro signal bar (O: 7733 | H: 7733 | L: 7706.25 | C: 7709 | Vol: 313) with a 5-minute execution trigger (O: 7707.75 | H: 7709.5 | L: 7707.75 | C: 7709 | Vol: 69).
What separates PID 11976 from simpler moving-average crossover bots is its ATR/VIX Adaptive Risk module. Instead of using static point stops that get hunted during liquidity sweeps, it dynamically scales its position size (up to 3x micro contracts) and stop distance based on real-time Average True Range expansion.

Why Did Rank #3 Lose Money While Ranks #1 and #2 Crushed It?
Even though PID 3648 is third overall in total wins (8 Wins), it is the only active MES bot in the red today (-$29.62). Its log line provides a textbook case study in why counter-trend fade signals get steamrolled on trend days—and why automated circuit breakers are mandatory:
2026-10-16 12:00:04 | INFO | Micro E-Mini S&P 500 Fed Hawkish Momentum | 📉 SIMULATED TRADE RESULT | LONG 3x MESZ6 | Entry=7756.75 → Exit=7749.25 | PnL=$-22.50 | Reason=THESIS_INVALIDATED_REVERSAL
At noon, while MESZ6 was hovering near 7756.75, the Curve/VIX Filter on PID 3648 misread a momentary pause as a bullish mean-reversion setup and went LONG 3x at 7756.75.
When the market rolled over through 7750, the bot didn’t “hope” for a bounce. Its internal risk state machine triggered a THESIS_INVALIDATED_REVERSAL exit at 7749.25, taking a -7.50 point loss across 3 contracts (-$22.50). Even better: after logging its 10th loss at 12:00:04, the bot’s internal drawdown/chop governor effectively sidelined it for the next 72 minutes. Had it held that 7756.75 long down to 7709.00, it would have suffered a catastrophic -143.25 point (3 × 47.75) blowout. Instead, it escaped the entire day with a -29.62 scratch.

The Anatomy of a Perfect 6-for-6 Sniper:
If PID 11976 is the high-volume brawler, PID 11832 is the surgical sniper of the fleet. Between our 13:06 and 13:12 snapshots, this bot delivered the most exciting execution event on the console.
Let’s reconstruct its timeline across both console dumps:

High-Tick Ingestion & The Gen-2 Telemetry Anomaly:
Why has PID 22576 processed 22,640 ticks while standard MES bots processed ~13,000 ticks? Because the bot_g2m_* (Generation-2 Macro/Micro) architecture subscribes to both top-of-book quote changes (Level 1 Bid/Ask updates) and trade print ticks on the Redis channel.
It is currently 3W / 0L and actively holding a SHORT 1x position, emitting live SIM_UNREALIZED_PNL events at 13:12:07.9. However, due to a schema mapping bug in the g2m wrapper (detailed in Section 6), its Entry, Realized, and Unrealized fields report 0 / $0.00 to the browser UI even while the underlying engine tracks the trade.

The 6-Minute Transition:
At 13:06 EST, PID 25596 was sitting at 3 Trades (2W / 1L) and holding an active SHORT 1x badge. Between 13:06 and 13:12 EST, as MESZ6 dropped from 7714.75 to 7709.00, PID 25596 closed out that SHORT 1x position for a win! By 13:12 EST, its SHORT 1x badge disappeared (returning to FLAT), and its record incremented to 4 Trades (3W / 1L), improving its win rate from 66.7% to 75.0%.
4. Deep-Dive: The “Frozen in Amber” Open Positions (YMZ6, MCLZ6, SOLV6)
While MESZ6 bots were actively entering, scaling out, and closing positions between 13:06 and 13:12 EST, four other bots on the console are holding open mock orders that haven’t budged a single tick in over five hours.
Let’s inspect Ranks #7 through #10—the positions trapped in our Stale Data Windows:
1. The Contrarian Dow Short: bar_ym_long_20260915_073353_gen2.py (PID 12404)
Symbol:
YMZ6@CBOT(Micro E-mini Dow Futures, Dec 2026)Position:

0 (0W / 0L)Data Age:
19,538s(~5 hours, 25 minutes) | Ticks:349
Forensic Analysis: First, notice the naming irony: a script named bar_ym_long_..._gen2.py is currently holding a SHORT 1x position! Why? Because our _gen2 historical bar compiler upgraded unidirectional Gen-1 templates into bi-directional regime-switching state machines. Early in the session (roughly 14 minutes after launch, before the YMZ6 Redis channel froze after 349 ticks), the 10-minute signal bar printed a lower close (O: 52459 | H: 52461 | L: 52422 | C: 52442), triggering a short entry at 52452.5. Because the trade is still open, the Trades counter reads 0 (our console only increments Trades / W / L upon full position closure), while the mark-to-market engine credits +$10.50 (52452.5 - 52442.0).
2. The Micro Crude Penny Grinder: bar_mcl_long_20260923_142618_gen2.py (PID 8684)

Forensic Analysis: Compare PID 8684 (_gen2) with its Gen-1 twin right above it on the console, bar_mcl_long_20260923_142618.py (PID 29744). Both bots ingested the exact same 106 ticks on MCLZ6, building the exact same 1m execution bar (96.30) and 5m signal bar (O: 96.31 | H: 96.32 | L: 96.28 | C: 96.30 | Vol: 33). Yet only the _gen2 bot triggered a LONG 1x entry at 96.26 during the dip to 96.21, capturing a 4-tick (+$0.04 normalized unit) gain before the NYMEX feed went dormant.
3. The Twin Solana Drawdowns: bar_sol_long_20260924_094205.py (PID 24876) & bar_sol_long_20260924_103434_gen2.py (PID 25092)

18,147sand18,150s(~5 hours, 2 minutes) | Ticks:2
Forensic Analysis: Out of 13 running Solana bots, only these two entered a trade—and both bought 106.65 on the initial tick before the feed updated to 106.20 (a 0.45-point drop) and froze for the next 5 hours. Because SOLV6 has only printed 2 ticks all day, neither bot has been able to evaluate a new bar close to trigger a stop-loss or time-exit.
5. Infrastructure & Data Hygiene: Diagnosing the Rithmic10 Redis-Gateway
Running 103 bots in a browser-monitored local production environment is the ultimate stress test for event-driven architecture. Let’s look under the hood at what the logs between 13:06 and 13:12 EST reveal about our plumbing.

Anomaly #1: The 5-Hour Stale Data Divide (19,550s vs. 0s)
Why do MESZ6 bots have a Data age of 0s to 38s, while almost every other symbol shows a Data age between 13,673s and 19,561s?
Let’s do the math on the timestamps:
In the 13:06 dump,
BTCV6bots had aData ageof~19,172s.In the 13:12 dump (360 seconds later),
BTCV6bots had aData ageof~19,533s(19,172 + 361 = 19,533).19,533 secondsis 5 hours, 25 minutes, and 33 seconds.The bots have been up for 5 hours and 36 minutes (
UP 5h 36m).
This means that for 6JV6, BTCV6, BTCX6, HGV6, MBTV6, MCLX6, MCLZ6, SIV6, SOLV6, YMZ6, and 6EV6, the Rithmic gateway delivered an initial burst of ticks during the first 10 to 25 minutes of the session (around 07:35–07:50 EST), and then stopped publishing ticks to those specific Redis channels!
Look at how the bots are reacting at 13:11–13:12 EST. Because their internal watchdogs detect that Data age > threshold, they are firing automatic re-subscription requests to the gateway every 60 seconds:
2026-10-16 13:11:44 | INFO | bar_btc_long_20260914_142516 | GATEWAY_SUBSCRIBE | Sent subscribe: BTCV6@CME → channel=rithmic:md:BTCV6-bar_btc_long_20260914_142516
Root Cause & Engineering Fix: Notice the channel naming convention in the log above: channel=rithmic:md:BTCV6-bar_btc_long_20260914_142516. Instead of broadcasting BTCV6 ticks to a single shared topic (rithmic:md:BTCV6) that 15 bots listen to, the gateway is maintaining per-bot dedicated Redis channels! With 103 bots running, the Rithmic Gateway daemon is managing 103 separate subscription state tables. When a Rithmic WebSocket buffer overflow or exchange-level pacing limit hit the non-CME-equity connections ~10 minutes after launch, the gateway dropped the upstream subscriptions for COMEX, NYMEX, CBOT, and CME Crypto, while keeping the primary MESZ6@CME stream alive. Moving to a 1-to-Many fan-out pub/sub topic (rithmic:md:<SYMBOL>) will cut gateway memory and CPU overhead by 85%.
